Sunday Summary Banner

So what did you miss this week?

Monday, October 6th, we lamented the end of the Silent Movie Era with the release of The Jazz Singer and we recovered from a weekend packed with the Old West Festival and the Cincinnati Halloween Masquerade.

Tuesday, October 7th, author Edgar Allan Poe died under circumstances befitting one of his mysteries, and we celebrated another strong female character . . . Ellen Ripley from the film Alien and its sequels.

Wednesday, October 8th, started a train theme for the week with Stephenson’s Rocket and the Rainhill Trials, and we introduced our October “ScreamPunk” Costume Contest!

Thursday, October 9th, we rode another train, this time to Dublin in Ireland, and we had our first “ScreamPunk” entry from the Death Angel. Also we look at some of the many things going on this weekend and gave you our Weekend Recommendations.

Friday, October 10th, we looked to the skies and discovered the moon Triton, and welcomed back Pluto into the list of planets racing around our sun. We concluded this astronomical theme with a look back at 80’s movie Night of the Comet.

Saturday, October 11th, we took a ride on our third train of the week with John Stevens, and Splinter presented her Steampunk Sally outfit for the “ScreamPunk” Contest. We also received another report from the Clan of Teks and their adventures in Indianapolis.

Sunday, October 12th, we looked at the origin of the world’s longest running wedding reception known as Oktoberfest, and . . . well, then it was time for the Sunday Summary.

This coming week we continue to feature costume entries for the “ScreamPunk” contest and as always look back on This Day in History, featured Airships, Weekend Recommendations, and more.
