RVA Steampunk Salon – February 2016

RSS_colors_smallIn February the Richmond Steampunk Salon at New York Deli RVA had the same number of attendees we usually get, about 10, but as usual the people that came weren’t the same that came last month. We seem to always attract new people, I suspect we have drawn near 40 different people to the Salon, but they never come all at once. Don’t get me wrong, we have a lot of returning members, but just not all at the same time.

Anyway, this month we put out a call for people to bring their “inventions” with them and several people did bring one or two items for show and tell. We had an unknown electronic device sporting tubes, dials and meters. We had the Atheric Decontamination Tool, and a fantastic ray gun made from 3D printed parts and other bits. We had planned a discussion regarding these and future inventions but as usual the conversation strayed from topic quite a bit.

Our next event is going to be a guided tour of the Maymont Mansion entitled “Victorian High Tech” in which they will show all of the high tech features of the Mansion that for it’s time, were quite advanced. Then of course there is the March RVA Steampunk Salon on Saturday March 5th. Hope to see you then!
