Richard Kadrey is a freelance writer living in San Francisco. He is the author of dozens of stories, plus ten novels, including Sandman Slim, Kill the Dead, Aloha from Hell, Devil Said Bang, Kill City Blues, Metrophage and Butcher Bird. He writes cyberpunk stories. He is a total bad ass. He is our Guest of Honor at Pandoracon 2016.

Richard Kadrey

Kadrey writes in many different subgenres, but his novel Metrophage, first published in 1988, is a cyberpunk tale set in a dystopic future where technology replaces morality. It has been referred to in reviews as “one of the quintessential 1980s cyberpunk novels”. Also, Kadrey’s short story Carbon Copy: Meet the First Human Clone was filmed as After Amy, a 2001 made-for-television movie starring Bridget Fonda . . . but he openly apologizes to Ms. Fonda for it being, what Kadrey considers, “one of the worst movies of 2001.”
