Blade of Honor

A recent successful Kickstarter for the first episode of a new scifi series will soon bring Tim Russ, Richard Hatch, Alison Haislip, James Kyson, Aron Eisenberg, Brandon Stacy, and other great talent to a small screen near you.

The series, Blade of Honor gathered over $50,000 from over 800 backers to bring the first episode to life. The series is very traditional, Roddenberry-esque space story, complete with plasma canons, various religious sects, and – of course- big ol’ spaceships. Although the project came short of its stretch goal, which would have meant a second episode for supporters to enjoy, the project’s creators are eager for fan input about future missions. There has been talk of a card game and additional web content, and a series of bonus material reveals are currently being scheduled for qualifying backers.

Obviously those of us who joined the party a little late will have to sit on our hands and watch reruns until the show becomes available for public viewing. Hopefully the pilot will do well and the project will win some producers or develop a large enough fan base to merit another round on Kickstarter.
