The Steampunks are Coming! The Steampunks are Coming!

I was once asked if the British “had fourth of July?” To which I replied, “Of course, it follows the third of July and proceeds the fifth.” Occasionally some American likes to tease me about the American Revolution and how “We kicked your butts,” but in all honesty Britain is pretty unified in not caring, and worst still many don’t even know that North America was once British . . . as you’ve figured out by know, if you didn’t already know, I am British . . . well, actually a dual citizen, so I feel perfectly comfortable marching in the Northside Rock’n’Roll Carnival July 4th Parade this Friday in Cincinnati, and if you are nearby I invite you to join us.

The Northside Rock’n’Roll Carnival July 4th Parade is typically comprised from a collection of Cincinnati’s alternative and eclectic counter culture groups, and this year for the first time The League of Cincinnati Steampunks is joining the parade.

The Details

Parking for non parade vehicles

Because parking is limited in the staging lot we won’t have any parking for vehicles that aren’t IN the parade, however, we have arranged a shuttle from the McKie Recreational Center at 1655 Chase Ave.

Shuttle Times:

A bus will be making regular trips to and from McKie (1655 Chase) to the Staging Lot (Greater Bethlehem Temple, 4781 Hamilton Ave).

The shuttle runs 9:30AM until 11:30AM. The Parade will commence at 12:00PM.

Staging Lot Set Up

When you arrive at the lot you must go directly toward the church into one of two lanes. At the end of the lane you will see a person with a clipboard. That person will give you your staging area letter and number in the parade. Go toward the staging area and see a volunteer to place you in the correct numerical order. **Please note – nothing should be left behind in the parade stage lot.

At the End of the Parade

The parade will conclude at Blue Rock St at Hoffner Park.
