The Men That Will Not Be Blamed for Nothing

The Men That Will Not Be Blamed for Nothing (AKA “The Men”) are a steampunk band from London. Their name is a reference to the chalked graffiti discovered above a section of blood-stained apron thought to have been discarded by Jack the Ripper as he fled the scene of Catherine Eddowes‘ murder. They describe themselves as “Crusty punk meets cockney sing-songs meets grindcore in the 1880s.”

On Saturday, May 7th, 2016, they will be playing at the Cincinnati Steampunk Salon.

The Men 680

The Men old school punk rock. Like, REALLY old school.

Genuine 100% actual Londoners, The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing come from a past which probably never happened via a present they didn’t want. Less steampunk and more “SteamPUNK”, the British four piece mix Anarchy and Anachrony in equal measure. Expect a robot Sid Vicious covering Slayer in an 1877 East End Music Hall: a murky mix of Doctor Who, Doctor Watson and Doctored History. Not for the faint hearted or those of a delicate disposition.

The Men are:

  • ANDREW O’NEILL: guitars, vocals (raw), radical politics (roar), inappropriate swearing (c***).
  • GERHARD ‘ANDY’ HEINTZ: Vocals (sore), additional instrumentation (saw).
  • MAЯC BUЯЯOWS: Guitar (bass), vocals (treble).
  • JEZ MILLER: Drums (rhythm), overall mood (blues).

Their first album “Now That’s What I Call Steampunk – Vol. 1” has been re-named after a legal dispute with EMI (seriously). It’s now called “The Steampunk Album That Cannot Be Named For Legal Reasons”.

Their critically acclaimed second album ‘This May Be The Reason Why The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing Cannot Be Killed By Conventional Weapons’ was released in 2012, and their third, ‘Not Your Typical Victorians’ is out now.
