International Steampunk Symposium – April 28th-30th, 2017
More than half a decade ago, dozens of airship crews from all across the state, the nation, and even the globe converged in Cincinnati, Ohio to compete in the first ever Steampunk Olympics and began the annual gathering known as the International Steampunk Symposium!
Founded in 2012, the International Steampunk Symposium is one of the longest running Steampunk festivals in the world. On a mission for the promotion and preservation of all things Steampunk, the Symposium plays a vital part in its dedication to the Steampunk Community, and is also a jolly good time where you are likely to find several friends whom you have yet to meet!
Our theme for 2017 is celebrating “30 Years of Steampunk” (AKA 1987 Steampunk’d) with author K.W. Jeter who coined the phrase in 1987. The whole convention will become a timeline of how our favorite fandom has evolved from a literary sub-genre into a full fledged community.
