Symposium 2017 Vending

This page is for those vending at the 2017 International Steampunk Symposium.

Vendor Halls

For 2017, the vendor hall has been divided into five sections for signage purposes. Each section has been designated an admin name and a street name to help direct attendees to them.

  • Vendor Hall A – Victoria Market
  • Vendor Hall B – Babbage Boulevard
  • Vendor Hall C – Lovecraft Lane
  • Vendor Hall D – Verne Avenue
  • Vendor Hall E – Carpenter’s Run III

Please note that some suites open up on to both Halls A & B, and Halls C & D; in these cases Hall B and Hall D are considered the primary address of the suite. For example: Suite 142 will be listed as being in Vendor Hall D – Verne Avenue despite the fact that it is also accessible from Vendor Hall C – Lovecraft Lane. It is up to those with double doored suites to decide whether or not to use both doors, but we do strongly encourage it as it will increase foot traffic to your store.

Maps and signage will feature both names. Maps will be posted throughout the hotel with the “You Are Here” red dot, and will also appear in the program book and on the website.

Vending Suites

For those with room vending in the first floor suites (Vendor Halls A-D), the room layout variants are pictured below. Please note that some rooms may be the mirror image of this layout.

With the exception of the TV stand dresser, the tables in the room can be moved, and/or used as part of your display.

Store Signage

For those with suites in Halls B & D, you have a window that faces the atrium area of the hotel. This window is six feet tall and 18 inches wide (featured in the third diagram above).

In Halls A & C the space above the door is 18 inches high if you wish to affix a store sign. Signs must be light enough to be held by painter’s tape (responsibility for marks left from signs falls on the individual vendor who has booked the suite). All suites have a door to either Halls A or C.

Vendor Hours

Vendor Hall E (Carpenter’s Run III) will be open during the following hours:

  • Friday, April 28th, 2017 – 4PM to 8PM
  • Saturday, April 29th, 2017 – 10AM to 6PM
  • Sunday, April 30th, 2017 – 10AM to 4PM

Load in for Carpenter’s Run III officially begins at 9AM on Friday, April 28th, 2017, but depending on space availability (if another group is not using the meeting space) we might be able to start load in on Thursday night.

Room suite vendors must be open during these hours, but also have the option of adding additional hours if they wish. Room vendors, however, should carefully note that they are responsible for the well being of their rented space. If you chose to be open late at night when the parties are in full swing, the decision, and subsequent responsibility, to let drunk people in your shop is entirely on you 🙂

The suites are all $119/night (plus tax) with a king bedroom (except rooms 112 & 118 which are doubles) and a 19ft by 11ft living area of 200+ square feet of potential vending space.

With the exception of the premium suites (rooms 104, 108, 112, 118, 130, 134, 138, & 142) that open on to both the atrium and the vending hallways, the vending fee for these spaces remains the same $200 as a 10ft x 10ft space in our 2016 vendor hall, but you get twice the space and total control over your vending hours between April 28th to 30th, 2017.
