Symposium 2017 Session – How to Punk Your Steam: Make it Supernatural
How to Punk Your Steam: Make it Supernatural.
Presented by Phoebe Darqueling.
Even though they were riding the coattails of the Enlightenment, the 19th century saw an increase in reports of werewolves, doppelgangers, and other things that go bump in the night. In an age of reason, how did people fall for it?
Phoebe Darqueling is editor of the Steampunk site For Whom The Gear Turns; she also writes for the Steampunk Journal and The Pandora Society. Her background is in Anthropology, Art History and Museum Studies; her approach to online media is to see it as a sort of living digital museum that she gets to curate.
