Boneshaker and The Clockwork Century Universe series are some of Steampunk’s most iconic series. Hear from celebrated author Cherie Priest about the process of the Clockwork Century and other series and stand-alone works, what Steampunk means, why it can continue to be important, and what’s next.
Cherie Priest has had twenty full-length projects published, with another four on the way. Her most recent books are The Family Plot, Maplecroft, and Chapelwood, and the young adult thriller I Am Princess X. Her best-known book is probably Boneshaker (2009) – which was nominated for a Nebula Award and a Hugo Award. Boneshaker also won the PNBA Award, as well as the Locus Award for Best Science Fiction Novel.
Actress, playwright and author Leanna Renee Hieber is the award-winning, bestselling author of Gothic Victorian Fantasy novels for adults and teens. Her Strangely Beautiful saga, beginning with The Strangely Beautiful Tale of Miss Percy Parker, hit Barnes & Noble and Borders Bestseller lists and garnered numerous regional genre awards, with new revised editions from Tor Books now available. Darker Still was named an American Bookseller’s Association “Indie Next List” pick and a Scholastic Book Club “Highly Recommended” title. Her new Gaslamp Fantasy saga, The Eterna Files and Eterna and Omega, is now available from Tor Books.
