So what did you miss this week?

This week’s edition of The Pandora Society was very Cyberpunk inspired as we considered its position in the ranks of retro-futurism, revisited at Blade Runner, looked at Virtual Reality, and had a Cyberpunk story. We also had our usual daily history report, Midsummer Masquerade updates, and a look at the future of airships . . . real ones!

Monday, July 6th, 2015

July 6th, 1892 saw the violence at the Homestead Steel Strike that left ten dead, we looked at The Paradox of Cyberpunk and Retro-Futurism for a sub-genre that exists in multiple capacities, and we started the elections for the 2015 Midsummer Masquerade Fairy Court.

Tuesday, July 7th, 2015

The Ziegfeld Follies opened in New York on July 7th, 1907, we pondered whether Blade Runner is actually a better story if its protagonist Rick Deckard is actually human, and we reported back on the initial results of the Midsummer Masquerade elections.

Wednesday July 8th, 2015

On July 7th, 1898, American outlaw Soapy Smith was gunned down, Dr. Pembroke examined the testicles of chimney sweeps, and we brought an update on parking and teens at the Midsummer Masquerade.

Thursday, July 9th, 2015

The Cross of Gold speech was delivered by William Jennings Bryan on July 9th, 1896, the future of Hybrid Airships was explored by M. Leigh Hood, and we began featuring Midsummer Masquerade vendors with Mlady’s Coutorier

Friday, July 10th, 2015

Lady Jane Grey became Queen of England on July 10th, 1553, but it did not last long, The Realmdweller looked at Virtual Reality and Modern Cyberpunk, and we previewed the food menu for the Midsummer Masquerade.

Saturday, July 11th, 2015

On July 11th, 1893, Japanese entrepreneur Mikimoto Kōkichi created the first cultured pearl, our newest writer Chris Pavesic calculated The Mathematical Satire Hidden in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, and we announced the Fairy King and Queen of the Midsummer Masquerade!

The future birth of modern Germany was seen on July 12th, 1806 with the formation of the Confederation of the Rhine, The Realmdweller brought us the first installment of his Cyberpunk story Sigma-4: The Wanderlust,  and then it was time for the Sunday Summary 🙂
