Monday, December 1st, Dr. Pepper “brain tonic” was first served in Waco, Texas, we interviewed Tom Pellitieri, better known to many as Steampunk Santa, and took a look at Steam Trek happenings at Starbase Indy.

Tuesday, December 2nd, militant anti-slavery activist John Brown was executed, we got a preview of Biloxi, Mississippi’s Geekonomicon, and there was an update with the Beard & Moustache contest.

Wednesday, December 3rd, Illinois became the 21st state to join the United States of America, we welcomed Highwind Steamworks back to the International Steampunk Symposium, introduced Minnesota’s DIODES, and transmitted Episode 37 of the Uncommon Geek podcast.

Thursday, December 4th, the British made the suttee tradition illegal in Bengal, we gave some Weekend Recommendations for events, and checked on the Beard and Moutache contest.

Friday, December 5th, we discovered the Mary Celeste ghost ship adrift on the seas, opened the hotel room waiting list for the International Steampunk Symposium, and profiled Symposium vendor The Artifixer.

Saturday,December 6th, we celebrated the 13th Amendment officially bring US slavery to an end, looked at Symposium vendor Festooned Butterfly, and read along with some classic sci-fi tales on vinyl.

Sunday, December 7th, outlaw Jesse James robbed his first bank, Cindy Spencer Pape presented us her short story “Holidays and Home,” and here we are back at the Sunday Summary.

 

 

This coming week we shall see the results of the Beard & Moustache Contest, a report from the December Cincinnati Steampunk Salon, and more steamy shenanigans!
