Steampunk Gaming at the Symposium
Earlier this week, on January 17th, 2017, gaming company C’MON launched their latest Kickstarter project for what might prove to be one of the best Steampunk games ever! Within hours of the launch it met its funding goals and confirmed its pending production. The game in question is The World of SMOG: Rise of Moloch, a tabletop game with a vast array of highly collectable Steampunk miniatures; it looks disturbingly beautiful!
Despite confirmation that the game will go into production, alas, it will not be available in time for this year’s International Steampunk Symposium, but C’MON Games were generous to the Symposium by donating a copy of the game’s predecessor, The World of Smog: On Her Majesty’s Service, for our growing gaming library.
For those who like tabletop gaming AND Steampunk, you are going to be pleased to learn that the 2017 Symposium has built a whole gaming track for the convention!
In addition to On Her Majesty’s Service, the Symposium Gaming Track will be running Ticket to Ride, Steampunk Munchkin, Cthulhu Fluxx, Imperial, 1879, and others; in the weeks to come we will feature details on each of these games.
To help run the Symposium Gaming Track we are being joined by Steve Jackson Games, FASA Games, Gateway Games & More, Ringtail Cafe Games, and other gaming organizations, but we are still accepting applications to run Steampunk orientated games. To keep with the theme of the Symposium we are seeking games that are Victorian in nature (maybe actually Victorian), but games that incorporate Dieselpunk, Cthulhu, and styles in keeping with the Steampunk aesthetic are also most welcome.
If you are interested in running games at the 2017 Symposium, please fill out this online form; we look forward to rolling some dice with you!
