Saturday Morning Sci-fi Blitz!

Well hello Space Cadets!

This week we’re mixing it up a bit and revisiting those Sci-fi filled saturday mornings of yore! No doubt the first of many, we’ll spend this episode looking at three sci-fi cartoon intros we all know and love. They may not have been the best written or had the most memorable characters but what they do have in common is some of the most ridiculously over-the-top 80s guitar riffs you’ve ever heard! These over-wrought, over-earnest sci-fi ear worms will burrow their way into your sub-concious and maybe even into your heart!  We’ll visit with space cowboys, evil plant monsters and Earth’s most powerful soldiers before it’s all said and done…and we’ll even get a peek at some cartoon merchandising to boot!

So grab a bowl of Boo-berry ceral and a big old glass of Tang, it’s a Saturday morning cartoon blitz this week on Meet Cleaver Theatre – The Pandoracon Edition!

Are you digging the space weirdness? If you’re a fan of these shorts, why not follow the Meet Cleaver Theatre page on Facebook? You’ll find these episodes a ton more reviews from the past…everything from sci-fi to horror to exploitation! More crazy trailers, more stupifying commercials, even some music videos…

If you’re just digging the sci-fi and haven’t followed Pandoracon’s facebook page yet, you can find that here.

  • OMG i loved Galaxy rangers and Jayce so much. I don’t remember Spiral Zone though.

    Thank you for doing this.

    • Thank you Jamie for taking the time to visit!

I agree with you you on all counts! Spiral Zone is indeed a pretty obscure series, but I couldn’t pass up that ridiculously overwrought theme song. Classic!

See you around the inter-webs space fan!

      Cheers,
      Butch
