Pandoracon Author’s Program

Lillian Price, author of “Thin Places.”

This year Pandoracon is launching a new Author’s Program to support and promote small and indie press writers.

For ten dollars more than the cost of a regular ticket, the Author Program ticket is a full weekend badge that is available to anyone with a published book. Rather than be stuck with a table and spend the whole convention in the vendor hall, the Pandoracon store will stock and sell your books for you. Authors are free to move around Pandoracon, network with others, and enjoy the program while attendees peruse the books in a more bookstore like setting. Each author is allocated a 18 inch cubed shelf space for their books and display materials and 100% of each sale goes to the author.

Authors will supply a certain number of books, for example 20 copies; at the end of the convention for each book gone from that initial number, Pandoracon will pay the author for 100% of those sales and all remaining books go home with the author.

Hourly signing sessions will be available at the signing table next to the Pandoracon store, and authors have the option of being panelist on the writer’s track programming. Also authors will receive a spotlight feature on this website and a listing in the Pandoracon program book, and there will be wall space allocated for posters and promotional materials they may wish to bring.

Authors! Free yourself from the table!

  • This looks awesome, but I’m not sure I can have materials ready in time. If I buy a regular admission now, can I upgrade later once I’ve secured the necessary stock?

Jane, an upgrade would certainly be possible 🙂 We’d really like to fit you into the program.

  • A friend of mine sent me a link to this post. I think your author program is a great idea, but I’m not familiar with your event and not sure if my work (m/m paranormal erotica) would be an acceptable fit.

Paranormal erotica sounds fantastic! We hope that you will join us for Pandoracon 🙂

  • Another question — I write under a psuedonym. Should I register for the badge under my legal name or my pen name? In other words, will you be matching my badge to my ID or will the confirmation number be enough?

You will need your photo ID when picking up your badge, so please buy your ticket using your legal name, but you can have your pen name on the badge.

  • Clarification requested.

I have one child under 5. Will he need a ticket?

  • I’m STRONGLY considering this for my books, but on Saturday we go to the Street Fair in Yellow Springs. Am I missing drastically on panels and signings if on saturday I’m only there in the evening?

Scott, while Saturday will definitely be our busiest day, the writing track and book signings will run throughout the whole weekend; an Author badge does cover the whole weekend of Pandoracon.

      • This is too unique a situation to pass up. I’m signing up on Monday.

  • I’m very interested in the writer’s track – both as an attendee and a potential panelist. What are the expected panel topics?
