Thank Wednesday, we finally have it.

After last year’s trailer debates (and pirating), studios have decided to release trailers shown at this year’s San Diego Comic Con to the rest of the world at essentially the same time. It isn’t even Saturday yet, and we have a plethora of fan-fodder to get us ready and screaming for upcoming shows.

My heavily-biased favorite is definitely American Gods, a series I’ve been drooling over since the book’s author, Neil Gaiman, confirmed that a television series based on the book was in the works. The story follows Shadow, the protagonist, into a chaotic world literally not meant for mortals. It’s a fascinating and exciting tale of religion, love, family, and loyalty.

The show is well cast, and the trailer introduces a score of central characters who feel like Neil Gaiman took a page from Inkheart and literally read them all to life. Set designs, cinematography, and chemistry all seem to be on point.

It seems that the fans prayers have been answered.
