2017 Steampunk Olympics
Presented by Peter Beerslayer & Don Dodson III.
More than half a decade ago, dozens of airship crews from all across the state, the nation, and even the globe converged in Cincinnati, Ohio to compete in the first ever Steampunk Olympics, the signature special event of the International Steampunk Symposium! This year the tradition continues with many of the well loved Symposium Games, and some new challenges.
The Steampunk Olympics are a series of fun, eccentric, and sometimes dangerous challenges that span the weekend of the Symposium. Most challenges are open to all attendees, and each contest comes with a scale of points, and some with prizes! While anyone may enter the games, only the officially registered airships and groups may use their points toward winning the coveted Steampunk Olympics trophy and four weekend badges for the 2018 Symposium.
Over the course of this week, and the next, we shall be publishing concise details on the challenges, contests, and games, but in the meantime here is the overview of the 2017 Steampunk Olympics.
